Rainbow Freight Group

Rainbow Nightfreight has been engaged in freight services for over 95 years. By the 1980s, as nationwide next day networks emerged, regional carriers joined forces and the Nightfreight national freight network was created. The Rainbow Group joined the network as one of the earliest members. In 2012 the core Nighfreight operation was purchased by the DX Group to form industry leader, DX Network Services, complimenting their specialised secure ‘Document eXchange’ activity.

As an integrated service within the DX network, Rainbow Nightfreight operates three depots at Newark, Kidderminster and Gloucester. Between them they cover collections and deliveries in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. The core activity entails the collection of freight from all over the UK which is consolidated and sorted at a central hub ready for delivery to destinations during the next day. A wide variety of items is handled by the network, and for this reason there are regulations covering the compatibility of freight and packaging. Indicative guidelines are provided within this website but specific arrangements are made in agreement with our representatives with pricing taking into account dimensions and weights. Cages and stillages are available to protect, isolate or consolidate certain freight. All of this is intended to provide a reliable and effective service for consignors and their customers.
